"Tamara Penwell" @ BEAR FLAT ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS 2022
From Saturday 21st May to Sunday 22nd May, 11am to 6pm Tamara will open her studio and home to showcase her work.

Tamara is an iconographer and mosaicist, painting Christian sacred images in the traditional techniques of egg tempera and buon fresco, and making hand-cut marble and smalti mosaics using the double-reverse Ravenna technique.
Her work is inspired chiefly by the 15th and 16th cent. Russian iconography schools, and by the Byzantine art. Tamara explores the universal pictorial language of icons and the expressive potential of natural materials.

BEAR FLAT ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS 2022
Bear Flat Artists are a group of artists all living in or around the Bear Flat area of Bath. There are some 40+ artists, designers and makers within the group, from ceramicists and photographers to jewellers and portrait painters. Every year since 2003, during the late May Bank Holiday, many of the artists open their doors for the annual Open Studios Art Trail, when members of the public can view and purchase many of the works on show. The artists also exhibit at the Bear Flat Christmas Fair on the first Saturday of December. Thank you to our sponsors and everyone that turned out for our 2021 event when we celebrated our 18th Open Studios Art Trail.
From Saturday 21st May to Sunday 22nd May, 11am to 6pm. Local artists and makers open their studios and homes to showcase their work. Enjoy discovering the variety of talent and creativity in our area. While centred on Poets Corner, the trail spreads across the whole of Bear Flat. Entrance to all venues is free and most works on display are for sale, if you feel inspired to buy. Most venues accept cheques or credit cards.
